Hello, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Scot Neal, I have lived in Wendell, NC since 1996. I came here through work with a telecommunications company. My background is in customer service and research & development.
A Clean Solution, LLC was founded in October 2001 as an Auto Detailing Company. In December 2001, a friend asked me to help him with a large carpet cleaning project. I enjoyed the work so during the winter months, I worked with him and learned the carpet cleaning business and processes. In March 2002, my friend decided to sell the carpet cleaning business. I purchased it and made it part of A Clean Solution, LLC. Shortly after, the detailing business took a back seat, then went away altogether.
Over the next 5 years I added furniture cleaning, oriental rug cleaning, leather cleaning and red stain removal.
In 2006, I built a new rug cleaning facility to provide better service for oriental and specialty rugs.
Also in 2006, Lisa and I were married.
In 2007, we made major upgrades in cleaning equipment. This allowed for faster response and higher quality service. With the new equipment upgrades, Tile & Grout cleaning service, water extraction and smoke odor removal were added.
In 2008, Lisa delivered Timothy Scot and life as we knew it changed a bit.
In 2009, we have taken A Clean Solution "GREEN". We now have a new line of cleaning agents that are plant based and completely renewable.
We are very excited that we can now offer 100% Hypoallergenic cleaning for our clients with allergy and asthma symptoms.
Our System
Our goal has always been to be an environmentally friendly company. We started going "GREEN" in 2007 with our current Hot Water Extraction system. The first thing that our clients see is "The Big Truck". A 2007 Dodge Sprinter. We selected the Sprinter because of it's low emission and very economical clean diesel engine. It emits 55-60% less emissions than other trucks, even trucks that are much smaller and gets 18-20 miles per gallon.
The heart of our system is the big red machine made by Master Blend. The RH-450 has the ability to supply endless 250 degree water. The heat alone gives this machine 3 to 4 times the cleaning ability of most other machines. This machine has enough vacuum power to clean 2 houses side by side at the same time without loosing any efficiency. It can clean up to 500 feet from the truck. The machine is CRI "Gold" aproved for soil removal. Gold being the highest level.
Other features of our truck:
Powerful HEPA Vacuum cleaner
On board water supply
Carry in hoses (Hoses that don't touch the ground so that we don't drag dirt into a clients house or business)
A variety of tools for carpet cleaning, furniture cleaning and tile & grout cleaning
Air movers to speed dry the carpet
Portable machine (Just in case we don't have outside access or the facility is a secure site)
Enough space to carry several area rugs

One of the questions we are asked most frequently is:
Why should I choose Hot Water Extraction cleaning and what is the difference between Hot Water Extraction and the other processes?
The most important reason to chose HWE is that the major carpet manufacturers recommend it, including Shaw Industries, the largest manufacturer of carpet in the world. Several manufacturers even require HWE to maintain warranties.
First, some cleaning theory. Cleaning of any kind involves 4 things: cleaning agent reaction, heat, agitation and time. If any of these areas decrease, the others must increase to produce good results. Ideally, a balance of the 4 works best.
Hot water extraction is a very gentle process. HWE uses a gentle jet of water to thoroughly flush cleaning agents and soil contaminates from carpet or furniture.
Not all Hot Water Extraction systems are created equal. Most portable machines are under powered and can not removal soils as effectively and they leave more water in the carpet. Also, most do not have adequate heat capabilities, this requires the use of more cleaning agents on the carpet or fabric. This is not to say that all truck mounted machines are up to the challenge. Some truck mounted machines have under powered vacuum systems and heating systems that can't maintain high water temperatures. As with the portable units, this means longer dry times and more cleaning agents on the carpet or fabric.
One of the main things to look for is a CRI (Carpet and Rug Institiue) approval of the machine. A Gold rating is best, but you may find a Silver or Bronze rating. Many of the carpet manufacturers require that CRI approved equipment be used to maintain warranties.
Our HWE process is based from a CRI "Gold" approved machine with a very powerful vacuum system and a heating system that can maintain 250+ degree water. We start our cleaning process with a hot (175 degree) pretreater. This starts the cleaning process instantly. Next, comes a light agitation with a carpet rake. This works the cleaning agent down into the carpet. Next comes a 15 minute dwell time. All of this time, cleaning is taking place. Next comes the 230 degree Hot Water Extraction FREE Rinse. This scrubs each carpet fiber and rinses the cleaning agent and soil from the carpet fibers. A powerful vacuum system then extracts the cleaning solution, soil and water from the carpet, leaving fresh clean, ph balanced carpet with no residue. With low moisture tools, your carpets are dry in minutes. Also, on heat set carpets, the high heat will allow the carpet fibers to re-twist back to their original positions. Only HWE processes can do this.
Other processes rely on AGGRESSIVE agitation from abrasive brushes and bonnets to make their cleaning processes work. Agitation is what causes most of the wear in carpet. These processes have no final rinse to remove residues, allowing carpet to resoil very quickly. Some dry powder processes can leave dust in the carpet and on household furnishings.
And some only clean the top of the carpet fibers, leaving the majority of soils and spills completely untouched.
